Jane Smith has been training riders and horses of all ages for 40 years. Nicknamed the “Lead Change Guru,” Jane has helped riders put a solid lead change on even the most “difficult” horses.

A native of Texas, Jane started riding western at the age of 4. She then found her way into the dressage ring by the age of 8. By high school, Jane was active in her local Pony Club and was competing regularly in 3-Day Eventing.

Jane now resides in Billings, Montana where she works with all types of equines, including: ponies, draft horses, gaited horses, and even mules. Jane has traveled around the world to share her gift of understanding how to communicate clearly and effectively to horses.

Over the course of the weekend clinic, you will add new exercises to your toolbox and be well on your way to solidifying your lead changes on ANY horse, whether they are green as grass or an older, seasoned horse.

You will learn how to…

Achieve and maintain true straightness with their horse
Give their horse the proper cues to balance their body and prepare them for a lead change
Improve their training sessions at home to set all of their horses up for success when it comes to lead changes

Each Group Session will include:

60 minutes of groundwork - includes conformation judging of horses and position practice on horse simulator

60 minutes of riding - each group will be a different level of riders/horses (groups will be assigned once all entries are in)
